POTATOES AND SOCKS
(With apologies to both sides of the great sock potato debate)
© 2013 by David Wainland
100 words
“What have you got in your sock,” asked Sheila.
“A potato, the baking type.”
“Why such a big potato?”
“To give the sock the heft it needs.”
“Why?”
“To defend our house from communists.” I answered.
“Why, a baking potato is overkill.”
“Because I can, besides, potatoes don’t kill people, people with potatoes kill people.”
“You already have a safe loaded with sock potatoes”
“You cannot have enough potato loaded socks. That and the government is trying to ban potato socks.”
“Will you give them up if they do?”
“They’ll have to pry the sock from my cold dead fingers.”

A delightful, and satirical, piece.
Thank you, Anita.
Only you, is right!
(And I just love that photo of you! It looks like you are catching a kiss!)
They make a fine, fine weapon.
Actually, it doesn't ...it is exceptional. The government will be banning it soon enough!
